Femme Velo is headed to South Africa this year with our new Ambassador, Eeden la Grange. Stay posted for group rides and other events for the rad ladies of SA. We'll let Eeden tell you about herself and what she loves most about being a cyclist.
I like to think that it is cycling's diligence that keeps me returning to the saddle again and again. Cycling can be hard on you. If you stay away for too long, it makes sure you are aware of it. If you go riding frequently, you'll be rewarded with the feeling of empowerment, the liberating feeling of a breeze running over your cheeks and a sense of progress. It is a true addiction, and lucky for us, it is the healthiest addiction out there.
For as long as I can remember, a bicycle was never far out of sight. It was not until 2014 that I bought my first proper road bike. I've been in love with the sport, energy, and culture ever since.
By day, I am the Deputy Editor and Copywriter of an advertising and design agency in Bree Street, Cape Town. If you haven't been to Cape Town, start saving. It is a mesmerizing city. By night, or whenever I'm not working, you'll find me on my bike, riding the roads of the Cape Peninsula and the streets of Cape Town.
